SS Rajamouli to direct a Trilogy starring Mahesh Babu

According to a report by News 18, SS Rajamouli’s next film will be an epic globe-trekking adventure starring Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu.

The film will undergo six months of workshops that will begin at the end of 2023. The VFX in this film is reported to be grander than Rajamouli’s previous work. The filmmaker is collaborating with the Creative Artists Agency (CAA), a USA-based organisation for the film.

Speaking about working with Rajamouli, Babu said, “It’s a dream come true for me to work with him. Doing one film with Rajamouli Garu is like doing 25 films at once. It’s going to be physically demanding and I’m really excited about it. It’s going to be a pan-India film. I hope we break many barriers and take our work to audiences across the country.”

The adventure drama is being penned by Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra Prasad, who is also credited with writing Baahubali: The Beginning (2015), RRR (2022), and the Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015).

Rajamouli described the movie as Indiana Jones or James Bond with Indian roots. MM Keeravani, who won the Oscar for ‘Naatu Naatu’ from RRR is set to compose the music for the film.
