Trailer Talk Of Prithviraj’s Bhramam: Andhadhun Gets A Brighter, More Colourful Remake In Malayalam

After Jayasurya's Sunny, Amazon Prime Video's next release in Malayalam is Prithviraj's Bhramam, the official remake of Sriram Raghavan's Andhadhun. Scheduled for an October 7th release, this is the star's third consecutive release on the platform after Cold Case and the recent Kuruthi

First impressions give us the feeling that we're watching a cheery version of the suspense thriller. There's more colour and the trailer does not hesitate to accommodate jokes too, preparing us for a different kind of film. The upbeat score by Jakes Bejoy and the casting of actor Jagdish further adds to the thought that it is more a dark comedy, rather than a thriller. Prithviraj's light eyes too gets a reveal along with a general idea of which actor will play which role.

With this release, this is the second remake of Andhadhun to release in 2021. Earlier this month, we saw the Telugu version titled Maestro hit theatres in the two Telugu-speaking states. A Tamil remake too is likely to release soon and that version stars actor Prashanth.

Apart from Prithviraj, Bhramam stars Raashi Khanna, Unni Mukundan, Jagdish, Shankar and Mamta Mohandas. Raashi will be seen in the role played by Radhika Apte in the original while Mamta will be reprising Tabu's role. The most fascinating casting decision though is how yesteryear superstar Shankar will be seen playing the role Anil Dhavan had done in the original. Given that the role itself is that of a star past his prime, the casting adds a meta layer to it.

This is Ravi K Chandran's second film as director after Yaan, starring Jeeva and Thulasi Nair. Recently, he had shot the Hindi remake of Mani Ratnam's O Kadhal Kanmani with director Shaad Ali titled OK Janu. He has also shot the film that was edited by Sreekar Prasad with music by Jakes Bejoy (Kuruthi, Operation Java). Written by Sarath Balan, Bhramam is produced by AP International & Viacom18 Studios. The film releases on Amazon Prime Video on October 7.
