ZEE5 announces digital release of comedy film DD Returns

ZEE5 has announced that the Tamil film DD Returns will have its OTT release on the platform. DD Returns will stream from September 1. The film was released theatrically on July 28.

The film’s ensemble cast includes actors Santhanam, Surbhi, Redin Kingsley, Lollu Sabha Maaran, Pradeep Rawat, Masoom Shankar, FEFSI Vijayan, Rajendran and Munishkanth. 

DD Returns traces the journey of Sathish (Santhanam) who is desperate to save his girlfriend Sofia (Surbhi). He and his friends hide a bag full of money and jewels in a haunted bungalow to escape the police. When they try to retrieve the bag, they are forced to play a dangerous game called ‘Win or Run’ organised by the ghosts in the haunted house. The game is devised to brutally kill contestants upon a failure to advance. Will Sathish and his team emerge victorious and escape the ghosts? Or will someone meet an unfortunate end at the hands of the ghoulish game designers?

Director S. Prem Anand commented on the film’s OTT release and said,  “I really wanted the film to make a mark in the horror comedy genre. I took my time to envision a perfect balance between the horror and comic elements so that the hilarity of the plot lasts till the end. I wanted it to be a fun-filled experience for the audience and I was glad when they showered us with love in the theatres. I have my fingers crossed hoping DD Returns receives a greater appreciation in the digital space.”

DD Returns will stream on ZEE5 from September 1.
