Vicky Kaushal has shared the trailer of his upcoming film The Great Indian Family on his Instagram page. The trailer gives us a glimpse into Kaushal's family, where the men have been priests for generations. Kaushal plays Ved Vyas Tripathi, better known as Bhajan Kumar, a popular devotional song singer in the town of Balrampur. But when a letter reveals that he was actually born to parents of another religion, the same town begins to turn against him and his family. The film blends drama and comedy as it asks why something as unpredictable as one's parentage, should determine how one is treated by society.

The Great Indian Family also stars Manushi Chhillar, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Yashpal Sharma, Sadiya Siddiqui, Alka Amin, Srishti Dixit, Bhuvan Arora, Aasif Khan, Ashutosh Ujjwal, and Bharti Perwani. The film is written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. The film will be released in theatres on September 22.
