Casting Director Mukhesh Chhabra has opened up about the experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan on his superhit film Jawan. In an interview with The Indian Express Chhabra said, "When you meet him, he gives you so much love that you can never feel awkward. I have worked with every star, and every actor but Shah Rukh sir makes you feel so comfortable, in life and even on sets, so there is no ‘fear’. We both are also from Delhi, so there is also that connect."

In addition to working on the casting of the film, Chhabra also plays a small role in Jawan. He revealed that it was Khan who recommended him to director Atlee for the part. "I was meeting them almost every day for casting and Shah Rukh sir was like, ‘Let’s take him, he used to do dramas before.’ I was like, ‘Please don’t pull my leg!’ But they were very serious," Chhabra added. He also revealed that the process of casting actors for Jawan took over a year because the film required about 165 actors for small and large roles.

Jawan is directed by Atlee and produced by Gauri Khan under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment. The film stars Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi in the central roles with a special appearance by Deepika Padukone. Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Sunil Grover and multiple others actors form the supporting cast of the film.
