Roshan Mathew and Darshana's 'Paradise' Bags An Award At Vesoul International Film Festival (FICA)

Paradise, starring Malayalam actors Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran, has been honored with the Prix du Jury Lycéen in its European Premier at the 30th Vesoul International Film Festival. Directed by Prasanna Vithanage, the film previously won the Kim Jiseok Award for Best Film at its World Premiere at the Busan International Film Festival.

The film has also secured four nominations for the 17th Asian Film Awards (AFA) including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Editing.  It is the first Malayalam film to ever receive these awards and nominations. Produced by Newton Cinemas and presented by Mani Ratnam under the banner of Madras Talkies, Paradise also stars Sri Lankan actors Mahendra Perera and Shyam Fernando. The film's visual storytelling is mastered by Rajeev Ravi's cinematography, K's music, and Tapas Nayak's sound design.

Paradise is set amidst the 2022 Sri Lankan political crisis. The film tells the story of a young Malayali couple whose trip to the island nation turns into a nightmare as unforeseen events unfold. Their relationship is put to the test, exposing hidden tensions.

The film's screenplay is written by Prasanna and Anushka Senanayake, with cinematography by Rajeev Ravi. A. Sreekar Prasad has edited the film, which has music composed by K (Krishna Kumar). Paradise will hit the silver screen on April 19, 2024,
