Mani Ratnam on Gulzar: Every conversation with him is a Masterclass

In a recent interview with Film Companion, Mani Ratnam who is currently promoting his upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan 2 with the starcast of the film, praised Gulzar who penned the Hindi lyrics for the film and music by A. Rahman composed the music. Talking about Gulzar, Ratnam said that any conversation with the legendary lyricist is like a ‘masterclass’.

“Gulzar saab plays tennis, paints, writes books extensively, makes movies which we all are huge fans of, writes songs for 60 to 70 years and so any conversation is like a masterclass like just now, it's a masterclass on life not just this,” Ratnam said.

Directed by Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan 2 stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Sobhita Dhulipala, Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya lekshmi, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, among others. The film will be released in theatres on April 28.
