Prithviraj’s Aadujeevitham gets preponed (Malayalam)

Prithviraj’s long-awaited Aaujeevitham seems to have shortened its wait for release. Initially scheduled to release on April 10, the makers of the film announced that the survival drama would release on March 28 instead. Prithviraj took to his social media to announce the change in release date.

Aadujeevitham is based on the popular novel of the same name by writer Benyamin. The story is reportedly based on true incidents about a Malayali immigrant from Kerala going missing in Saudi Arabia after travelling there for work. Najeeb Muhammed, the protagonist, finds himself in a life of slavery in a distant land and plans to escape from his misery. The novel was one of the bestselling books in Kerala and won the Man Asian Literary Prize.

The film adaptation has been in the making for over a decade and has finally come to fruition. Directed by Blessy, the film co-stars Jimmy Jean-Louis and Amala Paul. It has AR Rahman as the music director and Sunil KS as the cinematographer. Sreekar Prasad handles the editing.

KRG Studios collaborates with Malayalam director Anjali Menon (Kannada, Tamil)

Karthik Gowda, the producer and distributor who heads KRG Studios recently announced that the company would be collaborating with prominent Malayalam director Anjali Menon on a new film. Gowda mentioned that Menon’s reputation for films such as Bangalore Days is something that made them want to collaborate with the filmmaker. Yogi G Raj also collaborates as a producer on the film, which is tentatively titled KRG07. Menon last directed the SonyLiv film Wonder Women.

Om Bheem Bush to get a trailer on this date (Telugu)

The makers of the comedy film Om Bheem Bush recently released its first look poster. The poster shows the lead actors Sree Vishnu, Rahul Ramakrishna, and Priyadarshi Pulikonda in spacesuits walking through a village. The quirky comedy is directed by Sree Harsha Konuganti, who helmed the film Hushaaru. The makers have also announced that the film’s trailer will be released on February 26.

Om Bheem Bush is backed by V Celluloid and Sunil Balusu and co-stars Preethi Mukundhan, Ayesha Khan, Srikanth Iyengar, Aditya Menon, and Racha Ravi. Sunny MR is the music composer while Raj Thota is the cinematographer.

It’s a wrap for Santhosh Ananddram’s Yuva (Kannada)

Yuva Rajkumar, the grandson of Dr Rajukumar, is all set to make his debut in the action entertainer Yuva. The makers of the film recently announced that they wrapped filming the project, which also stars Kantara’s Sapthami Gowda. The film is helmed by Santhosh Ananddram, who is known for directing films such as Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari and Raajkumara. The maker last helmed Puneeth Rajkumar’s Yuvaratna, which was the last film starring the actor to release before his untimely death.

Yuva is backed by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner. B Ajaneesh Loknath handles the music of the film and the makers mentioned that the first single of the soundtrack will be dropping soon. The film also stars Achyuth Kumar and is scheduled to release on March 29.

Ravi Teja’s Eagle partners with ETV Win for OTT release (Telugu)

Ravi Teja’s Eagle was released in cinemas earlier this month on February 9. The film was initially supposed to be released for Sankranthi, but the makers decided to allow for other biggies on the weekend to be released. The makers have now announced that the action entertainer’s OTT rights were bagged by ETV Win. No date has been announced yet regarding when the film will begin streaming.

Eagle is directed by cinematographer Karthik Gattamaneni, who donned the director’s hat nine years after his debut film Surya vs Surya. Gattamaneni handled the editing as well as the cinematography for the film along with Kamil Plocki and Karm Chawla. The film is backed by TG Vishwaprasad under the People Media Factor banner. The film co-stars Anupama Parameswaran, Kavya Thapar, Navdeep, and Madhoo.

Dhanush releases the first look of his next directorial Raayan (Tamil)

After Captain Miller, Dhanush is gearing up for the release of his second directorial. The actor debuted as a filmmaker with the feel-good drama Pa Paandi (2017). Now, he has forayed into the crime genre with his sophomore directorial Raayan.

The makers released the first look poster, which sees Dhanush in his new avatar. He sports a bald hairstyle while wearing an apron and holding a skewer. Actors Kalidas Jayaram and Sundeep Kishan co-star in the film and are also featured in the poster. The trio stand in front of a food cart with an intense look.

Raayan is backed by Kalanithi Maaran under the Sun Pictures banner. AR Rahman handles the music while Om Prakash handles the cinematography. The film also stars Selvarghavan, Prakash Raj, and SJ Suryah in supporting roles.

Arun Vijay’s Vanangaan gets a teaser (Tamil)

The makers of the film Vanangaan recently released the teaser. The teaser introduces audiences to Arun Vijay, who seems to play a rustic and wild man who is extremely violent in his reactions. Filmed with a rawness that is the signature of director Bala, the teaser hints at an action-packed film. Glimpses of Mysskin, Samuthirakani, and Roshni Prakash are also seen.

Vanangaan is written and directed by Bala and is backed by Suresh Kamatchi under the V House Productions and B Studios banners. GV Prakash Kumar handles the music while RB Gurudev handles the cinematography.

Vijay Kumar’s next is titled Election (Tamil)

Uriyadi’s Vijay Kumar who was last seen in the crime film Fight Club recently announced his next film titled Election. It is said to be based on a local election and also stars Preethi Asrani, who starred in Ayothi. The film is directed by Thamizh of Sethuman fame. Election is backed by Adithya under the Reel Good Films banner. It has cinematography by Mahendran Jayaraju, music by Govind Vasantha, and story by Azhagiya Periyavan. The film also stars Richa Joshi, Dileepan, Navageethan, George Mariam, and Natchiyal Suganthi.

Gautham Menon’s Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha gets a trailer (Tamil)

Gautham Menon’s action entertainer Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha is all set to be released on March 1. The makers of the film released the trailer, which sees lead actor Varun in an action-packed role. The actor seems to be protecting the female protagonist played by Raahei, and fights various assassins and goons who are after her. The intensity of the action increases as the trailer progresses.

Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha is backed by Ishari K Ganesh under the Vels Films International banner and also stars Raahei, Yogi Babu, and Mansoor Ali Khan. The film has music by Karthik and cinematography by Kathir.

Suriya begins dubbing for Kanguva (Tamil)

The makers of Suriya’s upcoming fantasy action entertainer Kanguva recently announced that the actor had started dubbing for the film. The team released behind-the-scenes photos of the actor in the dubbing studio as he recorded his lines. The actor wrapped his portions of the film earlier this year.

Kanguva is directed by Siva and backed by KE Gnanavel Raja under the Studio Greens banner along with V Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati under the UV Creations banner. The film is written by Adi Narayana and the dialogues are by prominent lyricist Madhan Karky. The film also stars Disha Pathani, Bobby Deol, Yogi Babu, Jagapathi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, and KS Ravikumar in pivotal roles. Devi Sri Prasad handles the music while Vetri Palansamy handles the cinematography.

The makers of Mammootty’s upcoming film Turbo released the second poster. It sees Mammootty and two more actors sitting in front of a prison cell with different degrees of nonchalance. While one of them seems to be afraid, the other is asleep, while Mammootty has a smirk on his face. The poster is a complete contrast to the badass first look that was released, which saw Mammmootty coming out of a jeep with a swagger.

Turbo is directed by Vysakh and written by Midhun Manuel Thomas. It is backed by Mammootty’s production house Mammootty Kampany and will be distributed by Dulquer Salman’s Wayfarer Films. The film has music by Justin Varghese. The film also stars Anjana Jayaprakash, Raj B Shetty, and Sunil in supporting roles.

Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Oru Jathi Jathakam gets a first-look poster (Malayalam)

Amidst the works of his next directorial Varshangalkku Shesham, actor and director Vineeth Sreenivasan recently unveiled the first look poster of his next lead role Oru Jathi Jathakam. The romantic comedy sees the actor in a well-groomed, blue suit surrounded by multiple female leads. The setting of the image seems to be that of a wedding party, while the group of actors sits on a couch.

Oru Jathi Jathakam sees Vineeth Sreenivasan reunite with director M Mohanan, who previously helmed the film Avarvindante Athidigal. The film is backed by Maha Subair under the Varnachithra Films banner and is written by Rakesh Mantodi. It also stars Nikhila Vimal, Sayanora Philip, Aju Varghese, Babu, Antony, and Isha Talwar. Vishwajith Oukathil handles the cinematography while Guna Balasubramanyam handles the music.

Arjun Ashokan’s Anand Sreebala goes on floors (Malayalam)

Arjun Ashokan is all set to star along with Aparna Das and Saiju Kurup in the upcoming film Anand Sreebala. Directed by debutant Vishnu Vinay, the son of veteran filmmaker Vinayan, the film also stars Dhyan Sreenivasan.

Anand Sreebala is backed by Priya Venu and Neeta Pinto under the Kavya Film Company and Aan Mega Media banners. Abhilash Pillai, who penned the script for Mallikappuram will be writing the screenplay for the film. Ranjin Raj handles the music while Chandrakantha Madhavan handles the cinematography.
