Madonne Aswhin's directorial Maaveeran starring Sivakarthikeyan is all set to release on August 11. The film has an ensemble cast including Aditi Shankar, Yogi Babu and Mysskin. It is produced by Shanthi Talkies.
Sivakarthikeyan’s much-awaited Ayalaan is also set to hit the screens this year, on Diwali. Directed by Ravikumar of Indru Netru Naalai fame, the film was wrapped up in 2021 but was delayed due to extensive VFX in post-production as it features a CGI alien. The makers also released a video showing a glimpse of the alien. The sci-fi comedy co-stars Rakul Preet Singh and has music composed by AR Rahman. Nirav Shah has handled the cinematography.
On the occasion of actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s birthday, the makers of the romance Khushi released a character poster. The poster sees Samantha donning a blue kurta, smiling as she commutes to her office. Kids from the locale are seen playing in the background.
Khushi features Samantha as well as Vijay Deverakonda in the lead, who pair up for the second time after a brief role in Nag Ashwin’s Mahanati. The romance is directed by Shiva Nirvana of Tuck Jagadish fame. The film also stars Murali Sharma, Vennela Kishore and Jayaram.
The upcoming Malayalam film based on the events surrounding the Kerala floods, 2018 recently unveiled the trailer of the film. The disaster drama features an ensemble cast including Tovino Thomas, Kunchako Boban, Aparna Balamurali, Asif Ali, Lal and Vineeth Srinivasan. 2018 is directed by Jude Anthany Joseph.
Written by Jude Anthany with Akhil P Dharmarajan, the film is produced by Venu Kunnappilly, CK Padma Kumar and Anto Joseph. Nobin Paul provides the music while Akhil George and Chaman Chacko handle the cinematography and editing respectively.
Actor V Ravichandran’s next film, the legal thriller The Judgement recently went on floors. The makers announced during the muhoortham event that actors Diganth and Dhanya Ramkumar have also joined the film. This will be Diganth’s first collaboration with Ravichandran. Ace actor and classical dancer Lakshmi Gopalaswamy also stars in the film.
Written and directed by Gururaj Kulkarni of Amruth Apartments fame, the film is backed by G9 Communication Media and Entertainment. Anoop Selin scores the music while Pramod Maravanthe and Shiva BK Kumar serve as the lyricist and cinematographer respectively.
The makers of the recently launched Rangu Ragale added another member to the ensemble cast. Actress Ankita Amar, who is known for her role in the television series Nammane Yuvarani has joined the romantic comedy. She will be featuring alongside fellow serial actor Abhidas, actor Abhilash of Love Mocktail fame and social media influencer Sughosha Ramana. Apart from the film, Ankita Amar is also awaiting the release of her debut feature Aba Jaba Daba and is als filming for the Paramvah Studios production Ibbani Thabbida Ileyali.
Rangu Ragale is directed by debutant Jack and is produced by Shashikala Umesh under the banner Sree Visham Cinemas. Poornachandra Tejaswi of Lucia fame will be composing music for the film while Shekar will be handling the camera.
Karthik Subbaraj, through his production house Stone Bench Productions, recently announced that they would be collaborating with director Hari and actor Vishal on an action film. This marks a comeback for the actor-director duo after Thaamirabharani and Poojai.
The makers announced the film through a formal ceremony along with a first look poster. It is touted to be an action film. Currently titled Vishal34, the film is co-produced by Kaarthekeyan Santhanam of Zee Studios. No other details regarding the plot or the cast and crew have been revealed.
Actor Sivakarthikeyan unveiled the first look and teaser of Ashok Selvan's next, Saba Nayagan. From the teaser, the film promises to be a colourful ride laced with music and humour, chronicling the journey of the protagonist, SB Aravindh, as he navigates through different phases of life. The romantic comedy co-stars Megha Akash, Karthika Muralidharan and Chandini Chowdary. The film is written and directed by debutant CS Karthikeyan, an assistant of Kamal Hassan. Produced by Iyappan Gnanavel, the film features music by Leon James and has a different cinematographer for each phase of the protagonist's life.
The makers of the Saiju Kurup starrer Janaki Jaane recently announced that the drama would be released on May 12th. Also featuring Navya Nair, the film follows the story of a sub-contractor Unni Mukundan (played by Kurup).
Directed by Aneesh Upasana, the film is produced by Shenuga, Shegna and Sherga under their banner SCube Films. They previously produced the Parvathy Thiruvothu starrer Uyare.
The makers of Mark Antony, starring Vishal and SJ Suryah, have unveiled the film’s teaser. It sees the duo sporting multiple looks, hinting at two different time periods. In their vintage avatars, Vishal plays Mark and SJ Suryah essays the role of Antony, who are partners in crime.
Helmed by Adhik Ravichandran, the film features Sunil, Selvaraghavan, Ritu Varma, Redin Kingsley and Abhinaya in important roles. Bankrolled by S Vinod Kumar, the film has music by GV Prakash. Abinandhan Ramanujam has lensed the film and Vijay Velukutty has handled the editing. The team met with actor Vijay before unveiling the teaser.
The Pawan Kalyan-Sujeeth collaboration OG recently went on floors in Mumbai. The action entertainer is filming crucial portions with actors Pawan Kalyan and Priyanka Arul Mohan. The makers recently announced that veteran actor Prakash Raj had recently joined the sets in Mumbai..
The action entertainer is being helmed by Sujeeth, who previously directed Prabhas’ Saaho. Produced by DVV Entertainment, the technical crew of the film comprises Thaman S on music and Ravi K Chandran as the cinematographer.
The trailer of the Malayalam film Madhura Manohara Moham was recently released by the makers. Starring Sharafudheen, Rajisha Vijayan and Bindu Panicker, the film is directed by ace costume designer Stephy Zaviour in her directorial debut. The film also stars Arsha Chandini Baiju and Saiju Kurup.
The film is backed by B3M Creations and is written by Mahesh Gopal and Jai Vishnu. Hesham Abdul Wahab is composing the music for the film.
The makers of Vikram Ravichandran’s second film recently unveiled the title of the film. The gangster film is titled Mudhol. The announcement was made along with a first look poster as well as a teaser. Set in a prison, the film is positioned to be a violent action entertainer.

The makers of Venkatesh Daggubati’s Saindhav recently revealedthe first look of Andrea Jeremiah’s character from the film. Named Jasmine, the poster shows Andrea in an action avatar, wearing all black with a gun in hand. The action entertainer also stars Nawazuddin Siddiquie in his Telugu debut and Shraddha Srinath as the female lead.
Saindhav is written and directed by Sailesh Kolanu and is produced by Venkat Boyanapalli under the Niharika Entertainment banner. Santhosh Narayanan, S Manikandan and Garry BH serve as the music director, cinematographer and editor respectively.
Sequel to 2016’s hit action film Pichaikkaran, the Vijay Antony starrer Pichaikkaran 2 is slated to be released in theatres on May 19. The sequel sees ace music composer and actor Vijay Antony making his debut as a director. The original was directed by Sasi of Dishyum (2006) fame. Vijay Antony also dons the hats of a producer and music composer. Pichaikaran 2 co-stars Yogi Babu, Kavya Thapar, John Vijay and Harish Peraddi.
Starring Manikandan and Meetha Raghunath, the romantic comedy Good Night is scheduled to hit the screens on May 12. Directed by Vinayak Chandrasekaran, it co-stars Ramesh Tilak, Bucks and Balaji Shakthivel. The film is produced by Nazerath Pasilian, Yuvaraj Ganesan, and Maheshraj Pasilian under the banners Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment. Sean Roldan has composed the music for the film.
The upcoming film of actor Vishwak Sen recently had its muhurtham and pooja ceremony. Tentatively titled VS11, the film is directed by Krishna Chaitanya of Rowdy Fellow and Chal Mohan Ranga fame and will also star Anjali in a pivotal role. The film is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Saounjanya under the banners Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas respectively. Yuvan Shankar Raja is set to compose the music.
