The Yogi Babu starrer Lucky Man is all set to release on September 1. The makers announced the release date recently. The film is written and directed by Balaji Venugopal in his directorial debut. The comedy features Babu as a small-time broker and is said to address many socially relevant themes. The film also features Veera, Rachel Rebecca, Abdool Lee, and RS Sivaji in prominent roles.
The makers of Revolver Rita recently announced that prominent actor Radikaa Sarathkumar will be joining the cast. The announcement was accompanied by a short video that showed the crew welcoming the actor. The day also marked Radikaa Sarathkumar’s 45 years in the film industry. The veteran actress made her debut in 1978’s Kizhakke Pogum, which was directed by Bharathiraja.
Revolver Rita, which features Keerthy Suresh, is written and directed by K Chandru and is backed by Jagadih Palanisamy and Sudhan Sundaram. The technical crew consists of cinematographer Dinesh Krishnan and editor Praveen KL, with Dhilip Subbarayan as the action director.
After the success of the horror comedy DD Returns, Santhanam is all set for his next release. He will be seen as the lead actor in Kick. The makers of the film have announced that the film will be released on September 1. The film is written and directed by Prashanth Raj, who is known for directing the Kannada films Zoom, Orange, and Love Guru. The film also features Brahmanandam, Sadhu Kokila, Tanya Hope, Senthil, and Mansoor Ali Khan among others.
The makers of the horror film Chandramukhi 2 have released the first single from the film. Titled ‘Swagathaanjali’, the song is composed by Academy Award winner MM Keeravani and features vocals from Sreenidhi Tirumala and lyrics by Chaitanya Prasad. The song is centered around actress Kangana Ranaut who seems to be playing the titular Chandramukhi. The song was accompanied by a lyrical video.
Chandramukhi 2 is directed by P Vasu, who also directed the original. The film stars Raghava Lawrence, Kangana Ranaut, Vadivelu, Radikaa Sarathkumar, and Lakshmi Menon among others. It is backed by Subaskaran of Lyca Productions and has RD Rajasekar and Llewlyn Gonsalvez handling the cinematography and editing respectively. The film is aimed to release during Vinayaka Chathurthi.
On the occasion of his birthday on August 9, the makers of Mahesh Babu’s next project Guntur Kaaram released a new poster of the film. The film is directed by Trivikram, with whom the actor is collaborating for the third time. Their previous two ventures were Athadu and Khaleja.
Guntur Kaaram also features Sreeleela and Meenakshi Chaudhary, as well as Ramya Krishnan in a pivotal role. Backed by Haarika & Hassine Creations, the film has Thaman S on music along with PS Vinod and Naveen Nooli on the cinematography and editing.
The makers of the espionage thriller Gandeevadhari Arjuna released the film’s trailer, which stars Varun Tej. He plays Arjun, a spy who is tasked with protecting Aditya Raj Bahadur (Nasser), the Minister for Environment. The film also features Sakshi Vaidya and Vinay Rai.
Gandeevadhari Arjuna is written and directed by Praveen Sattaru of The Ghost fame. The film is all set to be released on August 25.
The makers of the pan-Indian film series Pushpa released Fahadh Faasil's new look from Pushpa 2 to mark the actor's birthday this week. The caption read, “Team #Pushpa2TheRule wishes the Massively Talented #FahadhFaasil a very Happy Birthday. Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat Sir will be back on the big screens with vengeance”.
Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s upcoming film Devil has finally got its release date. The makers of the film announced that it will hit the cinemas on November 24. The period action film is directed by Naveen Medaram and will see Kalyan Ram as a British agent who is tasked with solving a mystery.
Devil also features Samyuktha as the female lead and is backed by Abhishek Nama under the Abhishek Pictures banner. The film’s story, screenplay, and dialogues are written by Srikanth Vissa.
Tovino Thomas is all set to reunite with Forensic directors Akhil Paul and Anas Khan. Titled Identity, the thriller also features Trisha. The newest addition to the cast is Vinay Rai, who is known for his Tamil films Unnale Unnale and was seen in Mugamoodi and Doctor as the antagonist. He was also seen opposite Mammootty in Christopher.
After multiple successes in the form of the Drishyam series, 12th Man, and the upcoming two-parter Ram, director Jeethu Joseph, and actor Mohanlal are all set to collaborate once again on a film. The film is backed by Antony Perumbavoor’s Aashirvad Cinemas, who also produced the Drishyam series. The makers are set to announce the title of the film on August 12.
Mohanlal will next be seen in Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Malaikottai Vaaliban and is currently filming for his pan-Indian film Vrushabha.
The makers of the heist comedy Ramachandra Boss and Co. recently released the teaser of the film. The teaser features Nivin Pauly, Jaffer Idukki, Vinay Forrt, Vijilesh, Mamitha Baiju, and Sreenath Babu among others. The film is directed by Haneef Adeni, who reunites with Nivin Pauly after Mikhael. The film is aiming for an Onam release, clashing with Dulquer Salman’s King of Kotha and RDX.
Actor Anirudha Jatkar is all set to make a comeback in the cinemas with the dark comedy Chef Chidambara. The actor, who is known for his roles in films like Nenello Naanalle, Rama Shama Bhama, and Tuntata was last seen in 2018’s Rajasimha. The makers of Chef Chidambara announced the film with a first-look poster that shows Jatkar as a chef holding a butcher’s knife which has blood dripping from it.
Chef Chidambara is directed by Anand Raj who recently directed the Vijay Raghavendra starrer Raaghu. It features Nidhi Subhaiyya and Rachel David and is backed by Roopa DN under Damthi Pictures. Uday Leela is the cinematographer while Ritvik Muralidhar is the composer.
The makers of the Dulquer Salman starrer King of Kotha released the trailer of the film. The much-anticipated crime thriller also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Chemban Vinod Jose, ‘Dancing Rose’ Shabeer, Anikha Surendran, and Prasanna among others.
King of Kotha is directed by Abhilash Joshiy, from a script written by Abhilash N Chandran. Produced by Salman’s Wayfarer Films along with Zee Studios, the film’s technical crew consists of Nimish Ravi on camera, Shyam Sasidharan as the editor, and Jakes Bejoy as the music composer. The film is set to release in August for Onam.

The makers of the Dr. Shvarajkumar starrer Ghost wrapped up filming recently. The makers have revealed that the film is part of a shared universe with director MG Srinivas’ mystery thriller Birbal Trilogy. The film starred Srinivas as a lawyer who investigates a murder in order to prove the innocence of his client who is falsely convicted. Earlier, MG Srinivas had shared a screenshot of Ghost’s script indicating that there will be a meeting between Birbal and Shivarajkumar’s character. The crew has also filmed a couple of portions of the Birbal sequel in order to connect the dots in the shared universe. Ghost is gearing up for release during Dasara and the makers say that the Birbal sequel will be starting production in December.
