Empuraan is the second in the Lucifer series

The makers of Malayalam superhit Lucifer (2019) have announced the sequel to the film titled Empuraan. Producer Antony Perumbavoor took to his social media handle to make the big announcement, "The wait is over! Aashirvad Cinemas proudly presents 'Empuraan', the next chapter of the 'Lucifer' series. The film's script has been locked and we are stepping into the pre-production phase."

Lucifer was a political thriller set against the backdrop of the volatile politics in Kerala. The film was a blockbuster making a whopping Rs.200 crore at the box office. Like Lucifer, Empuraan too will have South superstar Mohanlal as the main lead. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and written by Murali Gopy, Empuraan will soon begin its first schedule of shoot.
