The Body Trailer Talk: Emraan Hashmi, Sobhita Dhulipala And Rishi Kapoor Star In Jeethu Joseph’s Gone Girl-Style Thriller

The Body marks the Bollywood debut of celebrated Malayalam film director Jeethu Joseph. Joseph is arguably most known as the mind behind the original Drishyam, considered to be one of the best thrillers to have come out of Indian cinema in the last decade (remade in Hindi in 2015 starring Ajay Devgn)

The Body centres on the mystery surrounding a corpse that goes missing from a morgue. Rishi Kapoor is the man tasked with uncovering the truth. The corpse in question belongs to a 'powerful businesswoman' Maya (Sobhita Dhulipala in what looks to be her most glamorous role yet). Questions arise about the mysterious circumstances that led to her death and all suspicion lies with her estranged husband played by Emraan Hashmi. In a Gone Girl-style approach, the question the film poses is who of the husband-wife duo is the perpetrator and who's the victim. Is he attempting to cover up a murder, or has she engineered the entire situation to paint him as a murderer?

Produced by Viacom18 Studios and Sunir Kheterpal, it will release on Friday the 13th of December.
