The makers of the actioner Salaar released the much-awaited teaser of the film in the early hours of Thursday. Starring Prabhas, the film is directed by Prashanth Neel and is backed by Hombale Films, both collaborating again after the highly successful KGF series. The film was announced in 2020 and after a few delays due to the pandemic, is all set to release on September 28. The teaser also reveals that this would be the first part of a planned series, titled Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire.

The teaser begins with gangsters hurling threats and abuses at a person standing amidst them next to a car. The man turns out to be the character played by Tinnu Anand who silences the crowd. He says that he will make himself clear in "simple English" and proceeds to describe the personality of who they will be up against. He begins with, "Lion, cheetah, tiger, and elephants are extremely dangerous," while the scene is intercut with glimpses of military as well as gangsters in what looks like a war-zone similar to the mines of KGF, with classic Prashanth Neel-esque dark visuals. Tinnu Anand then proceeds to give the punchline, "These animals may be dangerous, but not in Jurassic Park". We see our first glimpse of Prabhas as the violent predator Salaar as he takes on literal armies single handedly. The teaser ends with a glimpse of Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is said to play a crucial role in the film.

Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire is written and directed by Prashanth Neel and is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner. It stars Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruthi Hassan, Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, Easwari Rao, Tinnu Anand and Madhu Guruswamy.

Neel's regular collaborators Bhuvan Gowda, Ravi Basrur and Ujwal Kulkarni return as the cinematographer, music composer and editor respectively. There have been speculations that the film could be set in the KGF world, acting as a lead to a planned cinematic universe. The film is set to be released in theatres on September 28.
