In the much-awaited action-packed trailer of Valimai, released today, H. Vinoth shows a glimpse into the world of the biker cop Arjun, played by Ajith Kumar. He takes on the “most dangerous gang ever faced by the Tamil Nadu police”. Elaborate stunt sequences, blowing up vehicles, bike chases, amma sentiment, punch dialogues reminiscent of Siva films, Valimai promises to be the entire package.
Valimai also stars Karthikeya Gummakonda, who makes his debut in Tamil cinema. He was last seen in the Telugu films Raja Vikramarka and Chaavu Kaburu Challaga. Huma Qureshi, Yogi Babu, Bani, Sumithra, Achyunth Kumar, Raj Ayyappa and Pugazh will also be seen in key roles.
Director H. Vinoth’s previous outing was also with Ajith Kumar — Nerkonda Paarvai, which was a remake of the Hindi film, Pink. Before that, he made Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru and Sathuranga Vettai. A theme music has been released titled ‘Whistle Theme’ which is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, also the composer for the film. Nirav Shah, who has also worked on Nerkonda Paarvai, has been roped in as the cinematographer and Vijay Velukutty is the editor. Dhilip Subbarayan handles stunt choreography.
The trailer today comes after a making video, which served as the response to the insistent demand for updates from fans.
The film is produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios and is slated for a release theatrically for Pongal 2022. Ajith Kumar’s last Pongal release was Viswasam in 2019, the trailer for which also released exactly on December 30 in 2018.
