Naai Sekar Returns Trailer: Vadivelu Makes A Comeback In This Dognapping Comedy

Any Vadivelu fan would realise that the title Naai Sekar Returns is hat tip to the comedian's iconic character from filmmaker Suraj's (who is also the director of Naai Sekar Returns) Thalai Nagaram (2006). But there is more to this title than just the cheeky reference. At the centre of Naai Sekar Returns is a dog-napper who abducts dogs.

The trailer begins with a person named Angelina missing, but after a series of kidnaps, we are told that the ones who are being abducted are not humans, but dogs. The film brings back vintage Vadivelu, who doles out one-liners throughout the trailer. The comedian, who plays the "dog kalavani" (dog kidnapper), calls his trade a major global business. But why is he kidnapping dogs?

Santhosh Narayanan's crazy background score all through the trailer and the song "Na decentaana aalu, en gang la naalu foolu. Naai Sekar mattum coolu, en moolai thaan en toolu," in Vadivelu's voice hints at the mood of the film.

The film also packages a cast of comedians featuring Sivaangi Krishnakumar, Redin Kingsley, Prashanth Rangaswamy, Anandaraj, Rao Ramesh, Manobala, Munishkanth and Shivani Narayanan. Helmed by Suraj, Naai Sekar Returns will be released on December 9.
