The makers of Pa Ranjith's upcoming film Natchathiram Nagargiradhu dropped an interesting trailer, introducing the cast that makes up the film's vibrant universe. The two-minute long video has members of a theatre troupe express their views on love and what it means to them.
"Love isn't all fun. Love is pain," says Kalidas Jayaram, who plays Iniyan. On the other hand, Sarpatta Parambarai fame Dushara Vijayan (who plays Renee in the film) thinks love is political. "It is not straightforward," she cautions, as the screen cuts to several stars including Kalaiyarasan and Shabeer Kallarakkal breaking the fourth wall to share with audiences their take on romance. Not only is love powerful, it also has the power to abolish gender, says Sylvia, reminding people to look past heteronormative perspectives on love.
