Sivakarthikeyan is not the typical angry young man who is ready to fight people of power in Madonne Ashwin's (of Mandela (2021) fame) Maaveeran. In fact, he is the exact opposite; a reluctant hero who wants to avoid problems. He is a cartoonist by profession and creates stories for the newspaper. "Yemane thavaru seidhaalum thatti ketpen (Even if lord Yama makes a mistake, I'll question him," he pens the dialogue for the character in his new cartoon series titled "Maaveeran". But in reality, he is scared and shies away from issues.

But when few chaotic incidents (like his shoe getting stuck on a political party's poster) end up putting him in a tough spot, one where he is involuntarily pitted against politicians, he decides to fight back. With Ashwin's witty writing and Sivakarthikeyan's quirky actions, the trailer promises a fun-filled political drama.

Produced by Arun Viswa, the film co-stars Aditi Shankar and Yogi Babu. Vidhu Ayyanna has lensed the film, Bharath Sankar has composed the music and Philomin Raj has handled the editing. Maaveeran is slated to hit the screens on July 14.
