Trailer Talk: Dhanush-Starrer Jagame Thandhiram On Netflix is Easy Swagger And Full Of Coolth

Netflix has just dropped the teaser of Dhanush -starrer Jagame Thandhiram. The film carries huge expectations as this is the star's first collaboration with director Karthik Subbaraj. Dhanush fans who haven't seen him in a new film for over a year (his last release was Pattas in January 2020) have been waiting for the teaser for a long while now. According to the makers, it is supposed to answer the question: Who is Suruli?

The first part of the trailer does reveal a bit about Suruli. Dhanush is shown in two avatars. In the first, he is the owner of a hotel, and there are hints he's a gangster under the hood. In the second, he seems to be a gangster in London. Dhanush is full of easy swagger, and the teaser is made up of shots of him — especially the final punch dialogue — exuding coolth.

Jagame Thandhiram has been produced by S Sashikanth (who has also co-produced Halitha Shameem's upcoming Aelay). More than getting an answer to the question 'Who is Suruli?', we are only more curious now. How did a local goon become a gangster in London? Is he a hired gun? Or is he an innocent hotel owner caught up in gangsters' crossfire? We'll have to wait when the film releases on Netflix shortly.

In a release, Netflix said Jagame Thandhiram would launch globally in over 190 countries, at the same time, in multiple languages.

Speaking about the Netflix release, director Karthik Subbaraj said: "Jagame Thandhiram is my dream film. A script that's very close to my heart. A story that needs to be told, and heard by audiences across the world. This film has found a new way to speak to its audience."

Producer S Sashikanth of YNOT Studios said: "YNOT Studios as a brand has always been identified with backing bold and path breaking ideas fearlessly, and this decision emphasises further that the ideology is not just limited to content, but also extends across all our strategies and initiatives."

The film also stars James Cosmo, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Kalaiyarasan and Joju George, and music is by Santhosh Narayanan.
