No Fathers In Kashmir Trailer Talk: The Kashmir Situation, Through A Teenage Girl’s Eyes

In Ashvin Kumar's new film No Fathers in Kashmir (which got a clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification recently), Noor (Zara Webb), a British-Kashmiri teen, returns to re-trace her roots.

Her father has been missing for years, like many others her age in her hometown. She befriends Majid (Shivan Raina), a local boy. It's all fun and games – she makes him pose like a 'terrorist' for a selfie – till things take a dark turn.

Majid is put behind bars; Noor is on her own, trying to help her friend out as she discovers truths about the crisis in Kashmir – at one point, an army office (played by Anshuman Jha) says, 'Every villager is an enemy…or a countryman. Who do I fight? Who do I protect?'

No Fathers in Kashmir features Soni Razdan, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, and Kumar himself, among others.

Kumar had made the Oscar nominated short film Little Terrorist (2004). No Fathers in Kashmir is written and produced by him. It will release on 5 April.
