Kaanekkaane Trailer Talk: SonyLIV’s Malayalam Debut Looks Mysterious And Intriguing

After a series of films in Tamil, like Vaazhl and Thittam IranduSonyLIV has shown its intent in entering all South languages in a major way with its release of Malayalam film Kaane Kaane.

Written by star screenwriters Bobby and Sanjay (Mumbai Police, Traffic, How Old Are You) and directed by Manu Ashokan, the film marks the reunion of the team that made the hit drama Uyare.

In the one-minute trailer, not much can be understood about plot or story but it appears to be the after-effect of a car accident. With the three main characters being played by Suraj Venjaramoodu, Tovino Thomas and Aishwarya Lakshmi, the trailer hints at the aftermath of an incident and what happens to the two people involved in it.

If one were to take a shot in the dark, it appears that Tovino's character was behind an accident that killed one of Suraj's children. Tovino's character appears to be wealthy while Suraj's hails from a middle-class background but both do not seems to have survived the tragedy of the incident.

In first viewing, the trailer gives us another feel of a duel like one of Suraj's recent films Driving License, in which he played a government officer too. With a mix of a thriller and drama, the film is sure to be an interesting watch with multiple perspectives, truths and suspense.

Apart from these actors, the cast also features Binu Pappu, Prem Prakash, Shruti Ramachandran, Rony David Raj among others. The film is being produced by TR Shamsudeen, who had earlier made Queen and 1983.

Alby Antony is the cinematographer and Abhilash Balachandran has edited this thriller. Ranjin Raj (Joseph) is the music director and the lyrics is penned by Vinayak Sasikumar.

The film will release directly on SonyLIV on Friday, September 17.
