Jailer Teaser: Muthuvel Pandian Arrives In Vintage Rajinikanth Style

Director Nelson Dilipkumar is known for his straightaced brand of dark yet action comedies. And the next in line for the filmmaker is Jailer, which sees him collaborate for the first time with screen icon Rajinikanth. The superstar plays a prison guard named Muthuvel Pandian in the film. And to mark the superstar's birthday, the makers released a small yet stylish video detailing the character as he gets ready for work.

With the powerful score of Anirudh playing in the background, the video oozes vintage Rajinikanth eccentricities, including his signature sitting pose in silhouette, his characteristic walk and the superstar name card. And just when we think Muthuvel Pandian, a bespectacled middle-aged jailer, is like any another person going about his routine, he takes out a sickle from the dark, indicating that we're up for some explosive action.

Produced by Sun Pictures, the film co-stars Ramya Krishnan, Shiva Rajkumar, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu and Vinayakan. While Vijay Kartik Kannan has lensed the film, R Nirmal has handled the editing.
