The two-and-a-half-minute trailer begins with a cold-blooded murder of a young boy in a jungle. The police speculate that it seems unlikely that a human being has committed this murder. Leading this investigation is DSP Ratna Sankhawar (Chadha), who questions everyone associated with the victim, trying to find cues. The kid's mentor (Roy), as Ratna observes, looks deeply invested in the case. He knows something, and feels obligated to uncover the truth.
As the interrogations progress, hidden truths are slowly unveiled – including the illegal sale of drugged candies to teenagers, who are later attacked by a cult or an unknown species called 'Masaan'. There's also politician Money Ranaut (Manu Rishi), who seems to be rallying for undisclosed, blood-soaked agendas of his own.
The trailer ends with a series of clips depicting the hunt of the cold-blooded 'Masaan', and a mysterious person wearing a white rabbit mask. Is that the criminal or are there actual paranormal occurences in the woods?
Candy, directed by Ashish R Shukla, is co-produced by Wakaoo Films, and will stream on Voot Select from September 8.
