Tandav Trailer Talk: Saif Ali Khan In The Murky World Of Indian Politics

Samar Pratap Singh (Saif Ali Khan) walks out onto a balcony as the crowds outside cheer his name. Only one bystander remains skeptical. "Power in this man's hand will be the end of democracy as we know it. Don't you see a dictator?" he asks.

Samar's father is India's Prime Minister. After his death, news channels begin speculating if he will take over the position. It doesn't seem to be that easy, though – at the funeral, the mysterious Anuradha (Dimple Kapadia) tells Samar she knows his secret and wants him to support her bid for the PM's post in exchange for her silence. "Kal, tumhare personal Twitter handle se yeh trend hoga: #AnuradhaIsOurPM," is how she puts it.

After getting over his initial shock and smashing some glass, Samar realizes it's better to be the kingmaker than the king. He teams up with influential youth leader Shiva Shekhar (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub), who starts his own political party called, what else but, Tandav. Messy politics ensue, with multiple shots of characters getting into fights and walking in slow-mo.

Created and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the show also stars Tigmanshu Dhulia, Sunil Grover, Kritika Kamra, Kumud Mishra and Dino Morea. It drops on Amazon Prime Video on January 15.
