Meenakshi Sundareshwar Trailer Talk: Can Long Distance Make A Marriage Grow Fonder?

Meenakshi (Sanya Malhotra) and Sundareshwar (Abhimanyu Dassani) are a match made in heaven – or so their families believe. Their names are also symbolic of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, after all. The two meet for an arranged marriage 'interview,' where Sundareshwar confidently says that he's a good match for her because he's an engineer, and therefore, reliable. Meenakshi is career-driven too, aspiring to make a big impact in a small business.

They form an instant liking towards each other, which turns into an easy chemistry as they eventually get married and start living together in Sundareshwar's house in Madurai. Living in a joint family, the two barely get to spend adequate time with one another when Sundareshwar gets an offer from an MNC in Bengaluru. The couple choose to enter into a long-distance relationship, with the husband moving to a new, metropolitan city, and the wife staying back in their hometown to run her own business.

As time passes, Meenakshi finds herself coping with adjusting to a new family, relatively awkward dynamics and handling her new-found marriage, while Sundareshwar starts involving himself in his work and the city life. They try navigating their relationship, but long distances were never meant to be easy, were they? There's a scene towards the end where he's shown partying with his colleagues in Bengaluru, right when Meenakshi enters his office premise. There's an unusual silence between the two, hinting at things slowly changing between them. She is then seen taking a train back to Madurai, in tears, suggesting that she can't go on like this any further. Will their marriage survive long distance?

Directed by Vivek Soni, the film has been produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, and will digitally release on Netflix on November 5.
