The film sees the actor-of-the-moment essaying the role of a police officer for the first time. The gritty 46-second teaser gives us glimpses of what appear to be violent political rallies as an angry crowd clashes with the cops. All this while Khurrana’s voiceover describes Article 15 of the Indian Constitution which prohibits the state from discriminating against any citizen on the ground of aspects like religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth.
There’s something about the visuals that is reminiscent of Prakash Raj’s films, which similarly dealt with politics and communal violence in the Hindi heartland. Sinha’s film, which the teaser tells us is based on ‘shocking true events’ certainly looks to be a timely one. Like his previous film Mulk, he seems determined to explore pressing social issues and harmful ideologies in the country.
