Arjun Patiala Trailer Talk: Reminiscent Of Diljit Dosanjh’s Hit Punjabi Films

Arjun Patiala, directed by Rohit Jugraj, feels like an extension of some of actor Diljit Dosanjh's popular Punjabi movies. Like his Punjabi comedy films, this too is loud, slapstick and the characters are over-animated. In fact, Jugraj has directed Dosanjh twice before in the movies Sardaar Ji and Sardaarji 2. Here, Dosanjh plays a bumbling cop, a character that is reminiscent of the one he played in Jatt and Juliet 2. Actress Kriti Sanon appears to be playing a TV journalist. To be fair, the trailer acknowledges all its cliches – that this is yet another cop film, Varun Sharma is once again sidekick to the hero, and that there's a mandatory Sunny Leone item song. The film has some fine actors in its supporting cast like Seema Pahwa, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Ronit Roy.

Arjun Patiala is produced by Maddock Films – the makers of Stree and and Hindi Medium – and will release on July 26, 2019.
