Achcham Madam Naanam Payirppu Trailer Talk: Akshara Haasan Plays The Role Of A Teenager

The trailer of Achcham Madam Naanam Payirppu hints at a coming of age drama centred around Pavitra, a teenage girl, who grows up in an orthodox family. She wants to try new things along with her friends but is also constrained by the limits set by her family and relatives.

Stuck between the two ends, she tries to balance both. Akshara as Pavitra is someone who has the freedom to do very little, and so is afraid of crossing the limits. She has developed an inherent fear and shyness of even doing normal things. For instance, she is reluctant to ask the shopkeeper for sanitary napkins. The film's title represents four values the girls in our society are expected to follow to become a good woman – fear, innocence, shyness (coyness) and chaste. These values seem to be the driving points in the film.

The film has been previously played at many international film festivals like HBO's South Asian International Film Festival and Caleidoscope Indian Film Festival in Boston.
