19(1)(a) Teaser Talk: This Vijay Sethupathi-Nithya Menon Starrer Explores A Writer’s Journey

Article 19(1)(a) of the Indian Constitution details the significance of Freedom Of Speech And Expression. And Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen's Malayalam film, which is part of streaming giant Disney+ Hotstar's upcoming lineup, is named after this article of the Constitution for a reason.

The teaser of 19(1)(a), written and directed by Indhu VS, was released by the streaming platform today. The minute-long teaser introduces Nithya Menen as an aspiring writer, who works at a local phone-xerox shop. Throughout the teaser, the actress can be found burried deep into her notes, scribbling away. "Fiction or non-fiction — there will always be a slice of the writer's life in it. They are both the same to me," says Vijay Sethupathi, whose character seems to encourage Nithya's flair for writing.

The film co-stars Indrajith Sukumaran, Indrans, Srikant Murali, Atulya Ashadam, Bagath Manuel, and Deepak Parambol.
