For Priyadarshi, In The Name Of God is undoubtedly a large vehicle. It allows him to scream, puke, mouth curse words, and break away from the hero’s friend stereotype in one go, but it’s not entirely a vehicle that has all of its parts in place. And its brakes don’t work.
“Me and my friends are exactly like the three leads. We have really talked for hours about the first person in my town to wear jeans pants,” says the director.
Every line is a joke and every gesture is a nod to the genre that Jathi Ratnalu sides with. Many dialogues seem to have stemmed from on-the-spot improvisation.
