In the age of the Coronavirus quarantine, lockdown and self-isolation, many more of us are relying on streaming platforms in search of distraction, escape or just plain entertainment. With a new month comes new possibilities, talent, collaborations and shiny new releases for us to get lost in.

From the much-awaited release of Black Widow on DisneyPlus Hotstar, to the return of Netflix’s hit shows Sex Education and Money Heist, here is a list of what’s releasing this month across platforms.

A documentary on the life of seven-time Formula 1 world champion, Michael Schumacher.

Sex Education: Season 3

When: September 17

A teenage boy with a sex-therapist mother teams up with a high-school classmate to set up an underground sex therapy clinic at school.

Ankahi Kahaniya

When: September 17

The three-part anthology stars Abhishek Banerjee, Rinku Rajguru, Kunal Kapoor and Nikhil Dwiwedi. Produced by RSVP Movies, the short films will be directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Abhishek Chaubey and Saket Chaudhury.

Kota Factory: Season 2

When: September 24

TVF’s popular black-and-white show returns, highlighting the day-to-day struggles faced by the present-day IIT-JEE aspirants in Kota. The star cast includes Jitendra Kumar, Mayur More and Ahsaas Channa.

Crime Stories: India Detectives

Cameras following Bengaluru police on the job offer a rare glimpse into the complex and challenging inner workings of four major crime investigations.

Cinderella

When: September 3

Camila Cabello, Billy Porter, Nicholas Galitzine and Idina Menzel star in the musical romcom with a modern take on the classic fairy tale. Cinderella has big dreams, and with the help of her fab Godmother, she perseveres to make them come true.

Paagal (Telugu)

When: September 3

The romantic comedy, directed by Naresh Kuppili, stars Vishwak Sen, Nivetha Pethuraj, Simran Choudary and Megha Lekha.

Mumbai Diaries 26/11

When: September 9

The series, starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Mohit Raina, is a medical thriller set in the Emergency Room of a hospital. It explores the challenges faced by the medical staff at the hospital as well as other first responders across the city of Mumbai while dealing with a crisis of immense magnitude.

Tuck Jagadish (Telugu)

When: September 10

The Nani, Ritu Varma and Aishwarya Rajesh starrer masala film is written and directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Shine Screens.

The Voyeurs

When: September 10

After Pippa and Thomas move into their dream apartment, they realize their windows look directly into the apartment opposite. When they attempt to anonymously intercede in their lives, they unwittingly set in motion a chain of events that will lead to disaster.

Annabelle Sethupathi (Tamil)

When: September 17

Rudra (Taapsee Pannu), a small-time burglar, gets into a palace full of ghosts. Along with them, she discovers the mystery about the owner of the palace – Annabelle Sethupathi.

Two brothers (Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor), whose job is to hunt and eradicate ghosts for money, are assigned a project in a remote village.

The sci-fi romantic comedy is written and directed by Karthik Yogi and stars Santhanam, Anagha and Shirin Kanchwala.
