Streaming platforms are notorious for their lack of transparency, allowing them to quote numbers that are tough to verify. Ormax Media, a media consulting firm, however, has been tracking viewership figures of the top releases across major platforms.

Here’s a list of the most-viewed shows and movies from the Indian streaming space between May 27th and June 2nd, 2024. The numbers are estimates based within India, and only include Hindi streaming releases.

1. Panchayat - Amazon Prime Video

Views (million): 12.0

Panchayat chronicles the life of an engineering graduate who joins as a Panchayat secretary in a remote fictional village of Phulera in Uttar Pradesh due to lack of better job options.

2. The Great Indian Kapil Show - Netflix

Views (million): 4.0

Kapil Sharma reunites with Sunil Grover and his rag-tag comedy crew to bring the popular essence of his weekly comedy show on Netflix. The Great Indian Kapil Show will drop one episode per week.  

3. Baahubali: Crown of Blood - Disney+ Hotstar

Views (million): 3.7

A prequel to the Baahubali films, this show follows Baahubali and Bhallaladeva fighting against a warlord called Raktadeva.

4. Illegal Season 3 - JioCinema

Views (million): 2.4

This third season follows Niharika and her colleague Puneet parting ways from Juris Associates due to their conflicting ethical perspectives, producing Niharika's internal struggle between her career ambitions and her moral compass.

5. Jamnapaar - Amazon miniTV
