Streaming platforms are notorious for their lack of transparency, allowing them to quote numbers that are tough to verify. Ormax Media, a media consulting firm, has began tracking viewership figures of the top releases across major platforms.

Here's a list of the most-viewed shows and movies from the Indian streaming space during the week of June 28st, 2021 – July 4th, 2021. The numbers are all estimates based only within India. This list does not include any streaming released from the South.

1) Grahan – Disney+Hotstar

Views (million): 6.2

Based on Satya Vyas's novel Chaurasi, the premise of Grahan is compelling. The 8-episode series is centred on a Ranchi IPS officer named Amrita Singh (Zoya Hussain) who, on the eve of the 2016 elections, finds herself leading a special investigation of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in Bokaro.

2) Ray – Netflix

Views (million): 3.1

This Netflix anthology of four films based on short stories by Satyajit Ray has been described as "Ray on acid". The films were directed by Srijit Mukherji, Abhishek Chaubey, Vasan Bala, with Mukherji directing the first two.

3) Sherni – Amazon Prime Video

Views (million): 2.9

Vidya Balan plays Vidya Vincent a forest officer who is trying to capture a tiger that has been causing havoc and death among villagers. However, the cobwebbed bureaucracy and toxic politics come in the way of her duty.

4) Broken But Beautiful – ALT Balaji and MX Player

Views (million): 2.7

Sidharth Shukla and Sonia Rathee star in the third season of Broken But Beautiful about wounded lovers looking for closure and catharsis. The show that released on ALT Balaji a few weeks ago, also dropped on MX Player two weeks ago.
