Sanjay Leela Bhansali On How Jim Morrison and Zeenat Aman Influenced Padmaavat’s Binte Dil

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for being a perfectionist. Right from his tightly choreographed routines to his precise directing style, his vision appears to be a carefully calibrated one. However, he insists that there is room for spontaneity on his set. He spoke about how the song "Binte Dil" came to be:

"I was shooting the song 'Binte Dil' with Jim Sarbh and Ranveer Singh in the bathtub. I didn't know what to do, I went over there and I said, 'Ranveer – Jim Morrison and Zeenat Aman. Mix the two and dance on the set and in the tub.' So he says, 'What? Give me one hour. I need to first debrief myself. I don't understand what the hell you're talking about.' And then he came and I said, 'Now I don't want to see your rehearsal. Go for a take straightaway.' He didn't know what hit him. And when he performed, I was so moved by what he did."
