Witness Raj B Shetty's Gruelling Preparation for His Character in Toby

The makers of the Raj B Shetty starrer Toby released a short making video of the film earlier on Thursday. The no-spoilers promotional material released till now has likened Raj Shetty's character, the titular Toby to the animal ram. The running theme of the film seems to be summed up in the tagline, "Push a sheep too far and you get a beast." 

One of the defining features of Raj Shetty's look as Toby is the nose ring he wears (apart from the huge scar on his face). The making video released focuses on the decision to use the nose ring and the planning that went behind creating the look. The video features the associate directors and the costume assistant explaining the thought behind the nose ring. The makers also mention that Raj Shetty had an injury during the course of the shooting for the bit where he wears the nose ring, making it a hazard for the actor, as they appreciate the actor's commitment.

Toby is directed by debutant Basil Alchakkal and written by Raj B Shetty, with a story penned by TK Dayanand. It also features Samyuktha Hornad, Chaithra J Achar, Samyuktha Hornad, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, and Raj Deepak Shetty. Lighter Buddha Films handles the production of the film along with Agastya Films, a venture by producer Ravi Raj Kalasa. Praveen Shriyan and Midhun Mukundan serve as the cinematographer and music composer respectively. The film is all set to be released on August 25.
