Vaani Kapoor is gearing up to make her streaming debut with a crime thriller, Mandala Murders. The actor, who received appreciation for her performance as a trans woman in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui (2021), spoke about the experience of working on her first streaming show.
Kapoor said, "I was looking for something clutter-breaking for my foray into OTT. I’m thrilled to be working with a mind like Gopi Puthran for Mandala Murders, a gritty crime thriller series that has pushed me to work my hardest in the genre I’ve never attempted before."
The actor, who is currently ‘neck-deep’ in shooting for the show added, "I have always been an actor who has never taken any shortcuts when it comes to my craft because I respect the art of filmmaking and the purity that one needs to have towards acting.”
Kapoor feels that Mandala Murders has pushed her as an actor to ‘deliver a performance that will hopefully be appreciated and loved.’ She added that she needed to tap into everything has learnt over the years to do justice to the director’s vision for the character and the show.
Kapoor will also be seen in Sarvagunn Sampanna produced by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner.
