Tovino Thomas Embraces His Star Persona In The First Look Of Nadikar Thilakam

Fresh off the success of the survival drama 2018, which has currently grossed more than ₹200 crores at the box office, actor Tovino Thomas recently unveiled the first look poster of his film Nadikar Thilakam. Named after the celebrated moniker of superstar Sivaji Ganesan, the film will see Tovino play a superstar.

The poster shows Tovino in an extravagant avatar, wearing a leopard-patterned shirt and jacket, and velvet trousers. He sits on a royal chair as the words ‘Shine on you crazy diamond’ is seen scribbled behind, a classic song from Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here, an album which deals with alienation brought about by stardom and offers a critique on the music industry. The poster hints at the film being a similar critique of the effects of stardom in the film industry.

The film is directed by Lal Jr., who is known for films such as Driving Licence (2019) and Honey Bee (2013). Produced under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, the film also features an ensemble cast of Veena Nandakumar, Soubin Shahir, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Anoop Menon, Shine Tom Chacko, Sreenath Bhasi, Lal and Madhupal. Yakzan Gary Pereira and Alby Antony have been roped in to provide the music and handle cinematography, respectively. The team is aiming for a 2024 release.
