Tiger 3 Box Office: Has the Salman Khan starrer Recovered its Cost?

Yash Raj Films’ much anticipated spy action thriller film Tiger 3 released in theatres on the auspicious day of Diwali (Laxmi Puja) November 12. Tiger 3 has been one of the rare films in many years which was released on a Sunday and on the Diwali day. The action franchise that broke several box office records with its first two installments Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) has seen sluggish growth since its release.

As per Sacnilk.com, Tiger 3 recorded its opening day with a whopping ₹44.5 crores, earning ₹43 crores in its Hindi territory and ₹1.3 crore and 20 Lakhs in Telugu and Tamil versions respectively.

The film saw an upward trend on Day 2 (Monday) collecting ₹59.25 crores, with Hindi collections alone peaking at ₹58 crores. The third day with the usual week start saw a subsequent dip in the earnings. The first Tuesday recorded a collection of ₹44.3 crore, 25.23% decrease from the previous day. The downward trend continued into the first Wednesday, earning ₹21.1 crore.

By the first Thursday, the film managed to pull in ₹18.5 crore, a minor dip of 12.32% from Wednesday's figures. The overall Week 1 collection stood strong at ₹187.65 crore.

The second weekend commenced with the first Friday garnering ₹13.25 crore, down by 28.38% compared to Thursday. Early estimates for the first Saturday indicate a collection of ₹17 crore. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Tiger 3 has a budget of ₹300 crores, the film has made ₹217.90 until now. Although the Khan starrer has not yet recovered its cost but still has time as there are no further releases until December 1 which has two major films releasing at the same time, Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal and Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur.
