In a recent media interaction, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari spoke about the heartwarming response received for her film Tarla, produced by her, starring Huma Qureshi and Sharib Hashmi in lead roles.

Tiwari expressed gratitude for all the love coming the film’s way and shared the best compliment she has received for the film. She said, “I am especially grateful for the compliment from Tarla's daughter, who felt she could see her mother on screen.”

She also shared her thoughts on the theme of women’s empowerment in the film. “It's not about being in front or behind, but about walking along, taking responsibility for each other, and supporting without predefined roles. As storytellers, we have the power to influence society's thinking, evoke memories, and inspire change in human behaviour. By creating a credible world for both - society and ourselves, we hope to leave a positive impact that empowers women and promotes a more inclusive society.”

Tarla, the biopic of culinary genius Tarla Dalal,  traces her journey from being a Mumbai-based homemaker to finding fame and popularity as a cookbook author and expert in vegetarian cooking. Directed by Piyush Gupta and co-written by Gautam Ved and Gupta, the film is co-produced by Tiwari, filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari and Ronnie Screwala of RSVP Movies.
