Sushmita Sen drops the trailer for her upcoming web series Taali

Sushmita Sen shared the trailer of Taali, her upcoming web series that will stream on JioCinema from August 15. The series tells the courageous real-life story of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant who fought a legal battle for the recognition of the third gender in India. The trailer shows us Sawant’s journey which began as Ganesh, a young boy ridiculed for saying he wants to be a mother, the painful medical process of transforming from Ganesh to Gauri and then becoming a well-recognised activist and social worker. 

Sharing the trailer, Sen wrote on her social media page, “Gauri aa gayi hai. Apne swabhimaan, sammaan aur swatantrata ki kahaani lekar.Taali - Bajayenge nahi, bajwayenge (Gauri is here to fight for her respect and independence. She will not clap but make others clap for her)! Taali on JioCinema, streaming free from 15 August onwards.”

Taali is created by Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartik D Nishandar. The series is produced by Baran, Nishandar and Afeefa Nadiadwala Sayed, directed by Ravi Jadhav and written by Kshitij Patwardhan.
