Suriya leads an Army in the First Glimpse of Kanguva

The action-fantasy film is directed by Siva

On the occasion of Suriya’s birthday on July 23, the makers of his next film Kanguva released the first glimpse of the film. Directed by Siva, Kanguva is an action-fantasy film which will feature Suriya in five distinct roles.

The glimpse video begins with a looming visual of a jungle amidst a rainforest. Devi Sri Prasad’s rousing song begins with Arunraja Kamaraja’s signature raspy voice announcing the lineage of the mighty warrior leading this battle. A warrior stands valiantly at the edge of a cliff, next to his horse as an eagle flies behind him, framing him to look like he is sprouting the wings, giving him a look that is both angelic as well as demonic. The camera moves behind him to show an army of archers waiting for his order. The warrior removes his deer mask and we get our first glimpse of Suriya as the titular Kanga. With long hair, an unkempt beard and face tattoos, Suriya gives a menacing look at the enemy and orders his army to shoot. The army shoots fiery arrows at the screen. The glimpse ends with Suriya’s signature eye-to-the-camera shot, where he asks the audience, “All is well?”.

Kanguva is directed by Siva, known for Vedalam, Veeram and Annathe. It is backed by KE Gnanavel Raja, V Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati. It features an ensemble cast which includes Disha Patani, Yogi Babu, Bobby Deol, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, KS Ravikumar and Jagapathi Babu among others. Vetri Palaniswamy and Nishad Yusuf handle the cinematography and editing, respectively, while Devi Sri Prasad provides the music.
