Amidst reports that Subhash Ghai had chosen the star cast for Khalnayak 2, a sequel to his hugely successful film Khalnayak (1993), the filmmaker has issued a clarification on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Ghai posted, “As reported in a section of media, let me clarify that Mukta Arts has not signed any actor for Khalnayak 2 though we have been working on its script for the last three years with no immediate plan to go on the floor. As of now, we are celebrating 30 years of Khalnayak with stars on 4th Sept.”
Khalnayak completed 30 years of its release on August 6 this year. The makers are planning to release the film again on September 4 and hold screenings of the movie for audiences.
Khalnayak, directed by Ghai, starred Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff in the lead roles. While Dutt played a gangster Ballu, Dixit and Shroff played police officers Ganga and Ram who are in his pursuit.
