Soori's 'Kottukkaali' Becomes The First Tamil Film to Have its World Premiere At Berlin Film Festival

PS Vinothraj seems to be the 'it-director' when it comes to taking Tamil cinema to the international level. His new film Kottukaali will be the first Tamil film to have its world premiere at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival under the World Cinema section. The drama stars Anna Ben and Soori in the lead roles. Soori returns to a lead role after his amazing performance in Vetrimaaran's Viduthalai - Part 1.

Vinothraj's first film Pebbles (Koozhangal) was selected as India's official entry to the 94th Academy Awards. The film also premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, where it won the Tiger Award. The film was picked up by Vignesh Sivan and Nayanthara's Rowdy Pictures and is currently streaming on SonyLIV. Kottukaali is produced by actor Sivakarthikeyan under the SK Productions banner.
