Screenwriters Association to Protest Outside Netflix office in Solidarity with WGA Strike

In solidarity with the Writers’ Guild of America (WGA) strike, Screenwriters Association (SWA) will hold protests outside the Netflix office in Mumbai on June 14 at 4pm.

A writer’s strike has been underway since overnight Monday with thousands of writers gathering on the streets of Los Angeles (LA) along with eight members of the writers’ guild of America who are on strike.

David H. Steinberg told Business Insider, "In 2007, we were fighting about DVD residual rates. It was like, 'The writers want more money. We don't have as much money as they think we do,'" he told Insider. "This time it's like, 'The writers want to have careers. They want to not have to drive for Uber."
