Sanjay Leela Bhansali: Only Abhishek Bachchan will play Sahir Ludhianvi

Sanjay Leela Bhansali confirmed that the Sahir Ludhianvi biopic will star Abhishek Bachchan. The role has courted names of a lot of actors including Farhan Akhtar and the late Irrfan Khan. The project was also rumoured to be shelved.

Bhansali confirmed that the film will go on floors this year. Bhansali said, “Sahir will be made only with Abhishek, and no other actor.” 

Priyanka Chopra was rumoured to play Sahir Ludhianvi’s love interest in the film. Bhansali is currently re-shooting some scenes from his upcoming web series Heeramandi.
