Hours after images of Salman Khan attending a party with a shaved head went viral, a report in Bollywood Hungama claims that the new look is for an upcoming film produced by Karan Johar and directed by Shershaah (2021) director, Vishnu Vardhan.

There have been reports and speculations for a long time about Khan collaborating with Johar on a new project. As per Bollywood Hungama, the new film featuring Khan will also be made against the backdrop of the Indian Army. A source told the portal, "Vishnu Vardhan got a lot of love from the audience for Shershaah. Even the families of several army officials as also army officials were impressed with his presentation of the Kargil War. And now, his next is also about the Indian Army and will star superstar Salman Khan as an Army Officer."

The report further adds that filming will begin in November and Khan will be working towards building a lean physique for his role in the film before that. His new look is also reportedly in preparation for this film.

There have been no official confirmations so far from Johar, Khan or Dharma Productions about a collaboration, though in April this year, Khan admitted in an interview with Rajat Sharma, that Johar had approached him for a film. Johar and Khan last worked together in Kuch Kuch Hota Hain (1998)
