Release Date Of Vikram-Pa Ranjith's Thangaalan Out
It has been announced that Thangalaan, directed by Pa Ranjith, will be hitting screens on January 26th, 2024. Vikram took to his social media pages to share a new poster while making the announcement. “A fiery story of a bygone era that’s waiting to be told and cherished,” he wrote.
The film, revolving around the plight and subsequent rise of coal mining workers near Kolar from 19th century, will see Vikram in a new avatar. The actor plays as the leader of a community that rises against the british empire’s exploitation. The new poster features Vikram in the center of the frame, appearing with a rugged beard and saint-like headlocks standing in a sea of blood signifying the battle, with his army in the background.
Thangaalan will also feature Pasupathy, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Malavika Mohanan in prominent roles. The film is said to be based on the fight for land between the indigenous people and the foreigners, and is expected to be one of the most expensive production from Neelam Productions and Studio Green so far.
Vikram also announced that the team will be coming out with the official teaser on November 1. GV Prakash Kumar handles the music department of the film which will have A Kishor Kumar crank the camera. The screenplay is co-written by Pa Ranjith and Tamil Praba, who also wrote the highly successful Sarpatta Parambarai (2021).
