Shastry Viruddh Shastry: Paresh Rawal to play Soumitra Chatterjee’s character in the Hindi remake of Posto

The Hindi remake of the Bengali film Posto (2017) will have Paresh Rawal playing Soumitra Chatterjee’s character. The movie is called Shastry Viruddh Shastry and will be directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee who directed the original. This will be the first Bollywood directorial for the duo.

The movie revolves around a child custody battle between his parents and grandparents. Mimi Chakraborty who was in Posto will reprise her role in the remake. While Shiv Pandit will take on the role Jisshu Sengupta played in the original film. 

Shastry Viruddh Shastry will also star Neena Kulkarni, Amruta Subhash, and Manoj Joshi. There’s no release date as of yet.
