Rana Daggubati seems to be on a roll with a slate of announcements this week under his Spirit Media banner. Earlier, he had announced that SonyLiv and Spirit Media would be producing the series Lords of the Deccan, based on the book by Anirudh Kanisetti which would explore the Chalukya dynasty. Now, the actor-producer has announced yet another project based on the myth of Hiranyakashyap.

Hiranyakashyap will be based on the Amar Chithra Katha comics and will follow the story of the demon Hiranyakashyap and his quest to overthrow Lord Indra's kingdom. The project is set to be written by ace director Trivikram. However, no director has been attached to the project yet. Earlier, prominent director Gunashekar was working on the project, but he later opted out.

These announcements were made at this year's International Comic Con San Diego, where we will also see the cinematic debut of the Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan starrer Project K. Spirit Media has also partnered with Vyjayanthi Films and has bagged the international marketing and distribution rights for the sci-fi film, which is directed by Nag Ashwin. The production house has also partnered with Weekend Blockbusters to bring the beloved Malayalam superhero Minnal Murali into the comics space.
