Prithviraj Sukumaran’s First Look As Varadharaja Mannar in Salaar Out

On the occasion of actor Prithviraj Sukumaran’s birthday, the makers of the epic action film Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire released a new poster with the actor’s look from the film. Sukumaran will be playing the role of Varadharaja Mannaar, the son of Jagapathi Babu’s Raja Mannaar. The poster sees Sukumaran wearing a black teekha and a septum, standing tall in front of a crowd with a stoic look on his face. The actor is expected to play a crucial role against Prabhas’ Salaar.

The film marks Prithviraj Sukumaran’s return to Telugu cinema after twelve years. He was last seen in the film Police Police, in which he starred along with Sriram. News of Prithviraj joining Salaar came as early as March 2022, when actor Prabhas announced that the actor would be a part of the film during the promotions of Radhe Shyam. Sukumaran is also set to collaborate as a director with the film’s production house Hombale Films in a Malayalam film called Tyson.

Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire is written and directed by Prashanth Neel and is backed by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films. The film also stars Shruthi Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Tinnu Anand, and Sriya Reddy. The technical crew consists of cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda and music director Ravi Basrur. The film is set to be released on December 21, 2023.
