Praavinkoodu Shappu: Anwar Rasheed Announces His Next With Soubin Shahir and Basil Joseph

Anwar Rasheed, in addition to being one of the most successful directors in Malayalam cinema, is also a producer with a good track record. His blockbuster outings include Bangalore Days (2014) and Premam (2016). The director is all set to wear the producer’s hat once again for a comedy titled Praavinkoodu Shappu, which has been announced recently. The film written and directed by debutant Sreeraj Sreenivasan will feature Soubin Shahir, Basil Joseph and Chemban Vinod Jose in the lead roles. Praavinkoodu Shappu is bankrolled by Anwar Rasheed Entertainments.

The comedy will be set against the backdrop of a ‘toddy bar’ as suggested by the title. Praavinkoodu Shappu will have a musical score by Vishnu Vijay, while Shyju Khalid will crank the camera, after his much-appreciated work in the recent blockbuster success of his last venture Manjummel Boys (2024). The supporting cast of the film also includes Chandni Sreedharan, Sivajith Padmanabhan, Shabreesh Verma, Niyas Bakker, Revathi and Vijo Amaravathi. The team has already started shooting the film in locations in and around Kochi and Thrissur.
